Committee

The Boy Scout Troop Committee is responsible for conducting the business of the troop, setting policy, and helping the Scoutmaster and Scouts with the outdoor program and other planned activities. The committee also has the responsibility to provide adults for boards of review. This is an important responsibility and is one area were help is always needed and appreciated. The committee consists of parent volunteers who fulfill various roles on the committee. Our Committee Chairman is Ron Friedman.

June 14, 2011

For Discussion:

1. Courts of Honor – Quarterly meetings to recognize scouts advancement and merit
badges. Present rank patches as it is earned and the card presented at Court of
Honor.
2. PLC meeting – Need to set last meeting a month aside for Patrol Leaders Council
to meet to plan the next months meetings. Only SPL, ASPL, and Patrol leaders
need attend this meeting.
3. Class B uniform – recommend 2 per scout/leader. Shirts are $10 a piece. Need
to collect moneys in advance and decide soon so we can have them by summer
camp. Parents can order as many as they wish.
4. Camp Savings Plan – $20 or $25 dollars a month deposited into scout account
to pay for summer camp. There is a discount for summer camp if paid by May.
However, money in scout accounts can be used to pay for any campout, yearly
troop dues, but concept is intended to be able to pay for summer camp by the
discount date.
5. Fund raisers – Only council approved fundraisers for outside charter organization
fundraisers, pancake breakfasts, car wash, aluminum can recycling, spaghetti
dinner?
6. Order of the Arrow elections for leaders
