School Night To Join Scouting a Success!

Not many Boy Scout Troops participate in School Night To Join Scouting. Typically, this is more of a Cub Scout event. However, we should never pass up an opportunity for recruitment. After spending a couple of hours making classroom visits to fifth and sixth graders, we were able to spur one such boy to action… even with such a short lead time as we were able to give the students (our class visits were scheduled for Thursday afternoon, right before dismissal, the day of School Night).  We also passed out fliers announcing our open house on Tuesday, September 3. Tyler will be joining Troop 501, in December, as he will not be 11, until then. In the mean time, he has joined Pack 830, and will participate with the Webelos den, there, until he meets the eligibility requirements to join the troop in just a few months! While a Webelo, he will participate in a few activities with Troop 501, to include our September 20 campout.

While we’re at it… Don’t forget to promote our Open House, Tuesday, September 3, at 7:00! Hand out your fliers to as many boys as you can (I have tons more).
