Weekend Campout

Join us for a great weekend campout. We’ll have a lot of fun… We’ll meet at the Church Parking Lot at 6:00 pm, and then haul out to Beaumont. We will set up camp in the Lane Camping Area, just over the hill you drive over after making that first right turn in the reservation (right next to Vollmar, if you are familiar with Camp May). Saturday, we will cook breakfast, and prepare our lunches. Then we’ll pack up, and head out… We will hike through Camp May, along the creek, and then at the Sun Dial, head for the road. We’ll explore Bouman Chapel, and then hit the trail to Mud Cave. After we’re done at MC, we’ll head down the hill, and up the road to Cub World. From there, we’ll hike over to Fort Hussmann, and then up to the Castle. When we’re done there, we’ll hike up to the Eagle’s Nest Lookout Tower, a three-level tower with incredible views from one of the highest peaks in the reservation. Then, it’s back down the mountain. We’ll have plenty of time to check out the maze and other areas of Cub World… Somewhere in there, we’ll eat our lunches, if we even remember that we have them with us! Eventually, we’ll meander back to camp, throw a ball around, or something, and after we get tired of reliving our day’s adventures, we’ll likely fall asleep as the glow of the coals in the fire begin to fade to black…
